The children enjoyed starting the week with a school read around! Teachers chose different books to read and the children were able to choose which one they would like to listen to. They enjoyed hearing a variety of stories as well as visiting other classes.

This week the children have enjoyed learning more about different animals. In preparation for an animal workshop next term, the children discussed some unusual creatures and thought about some questions they could ask to find out more. They were intrigued about what they might eat and if they are venomous!

We started this week with our first whole school ‘Read Around’. The children had all previously chosen a story to go and listen to in another class. It was lots of fun exploring the school, new teachers and meeting children from all the different classes.

This week we continued learning about pollution in our world. We talked about the changes we could make in our lives to lower pollution and make our world a healthier place to be. We used clay to make our own 3D Earth models which we painted to show the land and water masses.

We began this week with celebrations for the Chinese New Year, we watched a film clip that introduced us to the way Chinese families prepare for and celebrate this special time. We made lanterns and dragons and wrote about the ‘Year of the Rabbit’.
