Spring has definitely sprung in nursery as we started the week by listening to the Easter story. Mrs Bowen used figures and props to retell the Easter story. In explore learning lots of children chose to retell the story with the smallworld figures and we further explored the Easter story then. On Tuesday we visited St Oswald’s Church where the children met Rev Robert and enjoyed listening to the story of Puddles and the Happy Easter Day. He spoke about this Christian place of worship and we explored inside the church counting all the crosses we could find. We have continued to look after our newly sown seeds and continue to await some first signs of growth. In gymnastics the children further explored different ways of moving on the apparatus, building their confidence to travel in new ways. All the children have enjoyed the warmer weather and are choosing to explore more outside. Together we re-built our bug hotel, adding new objects and plants. Whilst building, the children enjoyed hunting for different minibeasts, lots of the children were very curious cats. At the end of the week we visited our school pond again to look at any changes since our last visit. We noticed a lot more pond weed on top and that there was more frogs spawn. We collected some frogs spawn to observe the changes. We look forward to watching the spawn hatch into tadpoles.
