Happy New Year! What a lovely first week back we have had. We started the week by reading the book ‘Here we are’ by Oliver Jeffers. We talked about key features of the Earth and explored what the children already knew. As the week progressed we looked at globes and atlases and identified that the Earth is made of  land and water. We sorted pictures into groups showing what we might find in the different areas.

This week we have been challenging ourselves to be more creative. We explored a variety of resources to create our versions of Earth e.g. marble rolling, balloon printing and free drawing and painting.

We are looking forward to exploring the Earth further next week as we learn more about sea life.
