SPORTS WEEK 2022 - 27.6.22 - 1.7.22
Wow! What a fantastic and exhausting week we have had.
On Monday and Tuesday morning we met each morning at 9am for some whole school aerobics and dancing. This was a great way to start the morning and get us all feeling energised for the week ahead.
On Monday we welcomed All Star Cricket. The KS1 children enjoyed learning some new cricket skills on the field. They worked in pairs to practise their bowling and fielding skills before having a go at batting too.
On Tuesday we welcomed Tilly’s Dance and Yoga Factory. The EYFS children took part in some mindfulness yoga. Our KS1 children also had the opportunity to learn some yoga poses and a short sun salutation sequence.
On Wednesday, the children took part in the Sport Around morning. The staff were positioned at different sports around the school site and the children got to choose 3 they wanted to go to. We had everything from javelin in the car park, rounders on the field to bowling in the corridors! It was fantastic to see the children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 explore these together.
On Thursday we were very excited to bring back our much loved Sports Day for the first time since 2019! It was great to welcome the parents and carers on site and to see some new sports included this year; archery and bikes! The children collaborated brilliantly in their colour teams and enjoyed a picnic lunch and ice lolly altogether after.
On Friday we ran our Mini Malvern Way Marathon. Thank you to the parent and carer volunteers who supported during the morning and cheered on the children. The children chose to walk, jog or run and we managed to run a total of ____ laps!
We can’t wait for Sports Week 2023 already!
