This week the children have used our class story map and their understanding of Hansel and Gretel to innovate their own parts of the story. We have compared numbers in maths using greater/less than and showed this with inequality signs (< >). In Science they continued to learn about habitats, focussing on pond environments. They enjoyed taking their learning outside to our school pond to investigate the animals and plants that live there. The children used observational skills to look at them closely and discussed why they are suited to that habitat. In art, the children created land art using natural resources from our school woodland area. We were inspired by the artist Andy Goldsworthy to make a variety of patterns and shapes!
