Week commencing 07.11.22
This week, we enjoyed our walk to Croxley Green War Memorial to reflect and learn more about Remembrance Day. We took time to look at the names on the memorial, listen to some Remembrance poems and lay a poppy wreath that each class had made.
In English, we have been writing shape poems, including a poppy shaped poem for Armistice Day. We then wrote a recount of our walk after going on the trip to the memorial, making sure we included time conjunctions to sequence the key events (first, next, then, finally).
In maths, we have been rebalancing addition and subtraction questions, by adding or taking away 1, so that they are easier to work out in our heads. Eg. 9+8 becomes 10+7.
