Week commencing 14.11.22
In Geography this week, we have been learning why grid references on maps are useful and how we can use them. We enjoyed looking closely at maps before using the grid references and a key to find different physical and human features. Later in the week, we then made our own 3D map of the woodland area using natural resources and objects from the classroom. Next week, we will be drawing our maps onto paper!
In PE, we learned how to safely put the mats out for us to use in gymnastics. We then explored a range of balances and included the use of benches to challenge us further. We were able to do balances on or next to the benches and always had to use our core strength to keep us stable.
In English wrote a letter to Mrs Cole, thanking her for the improvements made to the woodland area at school. In Maths, we have been using our number bonds to 10 to find compliments to 100 (7+3=10, therefore 70+30=100). We have also regrouped 100 into 3 parts using a part whole model to show it – our learning of compliments to 100 really helped with this!
