Nursery News – Spring 1- Week 4

We started this week with our first whole school ‘Read Around’. The children had all previously chosen a story to go and listen to in another class. It was lots of fun exploring the school, new teachers and meeting children from all the different classes.

The children have enjoyed learning about 2D shapes, their names and properties. We played lots of shape games including ‘ I spy, What can you see? and Kim’s Game’. Using gummed shapes the children made their own shape monsters.

Outside we have enjoyed the warmer, sunnier weather and have learnt how to use the spades safely. Lots of children have hunted for worms. Continuing on from our gymnastics in PE, outside we made an obstacle course where the children were encouraged to move in a variety of ways and then jump.
