Nursery News – Summer 1 – Week 3

Coronation celebration!

The children have had a fun filled week at nursery learning all about the King’s Coronation.

They enjoyed looking at pictures of the royal family and were confident at spotting who is going to be crowned king! Can your child tell you the name of the new king? Google maps created curious minds as we explored Westminster Abbey and other famous London landmarks, it was lovely to hear the children recall memories of their experiences in London.

We marched like the king’s soldiers and used our claves to tap a rhythmic beat to the drums and learnt a new song ‘Happy Coronation’. The highlight of the week was creating a king’s coronation class dance. The children impressed us with their listening, attention, rhythm and confident performing skills. They were very proud of themselves and we were too!

Resilience and determination was shown by all the nursery children as they started their training for Sports day. They worked hard to stay in their team lines and learnt how to follow the rules of our team race ‘The Kings Coronation’.

We hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend and enjoy celebrating the Kings Coronation with your friends and families. The children will be able to celebrate in style with their crowns that they have made this week in school. Please feel free to upload your celebration photos onto evidence me. It would be great to see what you have got up to.
