Nursery News- Summer 1 Week 6

This week the children really enjoyed listening to the alternative versions of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, ‘Jack and the Jelly Beanstalk’ was a favourite. They wondered if their bean plants might grow jelly beans! The children used their art skills to create pictures of the giant, they worked hard to remember to include all of the giant’s facial features.

Careful gardening hands were seen as the children worked hard to take care of their bean plant, they remembered to water it regularly and made sure that it got lots of fresh air and sunshine. The shoots are beginning to peek through the soil, they are excited to see what they look like after the half term holidays.

The caterpillars finally began to spin their chrysalis, we were so lucky we got to observe this in action. Mrs Rathod has taken them home to look after them during the holidays. She is going to observe them carefully and is hoping to film them emerging into butterflies so that the children can see them when we return.

Have a lovely half term break ,we look forward to seeing you after half term.

This week the children enjoyed their first PE lesson. They changed independently and listened well to the safety rules of the hall. The children then took a trip into the ‘jungle’ where they moved their bodies like different animals. We ended the lesson with some mindfulness yoga.
