At the beginning of the week the children enjoyed talking about their experiences of bonfire night, they described some of the noises they heard such as: bang, pop, whizz and crackle. Some of the children created their own firework patterns using a range of mixed media and others enjoyed making their own rockets using split pins to join the paper together.
Throughout the week the children have enjoyed using our class story maps of ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ to learn the story. Once the children were familiar with the words and actions, we innovated (changed) the story. We had some great suggestions such as: ‘Stickman and the three bears’ ‘Goldilocks and the three Numberblocks’ and ‘Goldilocks and the three dinosaurs’.
The children ended the week with scooter workshops outside on the big playground where they had the opportunity to learn new skills and understand safety rules.
