Reception News Spring 1 Week 3

Reception News WB 23.1.23

We began this week with celebrations for the Chinese New Year, we watched a film clip that introduced us to the way Chinese families prepare for and celebrate this special time. We made lanterns and dragons and wrote about the ‘Year of the Rabbit’.

We continued with our theme ‘I see, I think, I wonder…’ as we focused on pollution in our oceans. We read the book ‘Somebody swallowed Stanley’ and talked about our responsibilities for taking care of sea life.

In PE, we developed our gym skills further still as we explored the large apparatus including the gym wall. We revisited the skills of shape (tuck and pike) and learnt how to climb, hang and balance.
