Reception News Summer 2 – Week 5

Reception News WB 4.7.22

We started the week with a visit from our local librarians who told us all about the Summer reading challenge. We hope many of you will find the time to visit the library over the Summer in order to take part.

Later in the week, the children enjoyed learning about the history of the teddy bear including how it got its name. We ended the week with a teddy bear day where the children talked about their own bears, made name labels for them and played a range of teddy bear games.

RSPB’s Great British Birdwatch

Today the Eco warriors took part in the RSPB’s Great British Birdwatch. We located ourselves near the allotment beds because we’ve heard lots of chirping there before. We only saw one little sparrow making the noise but we did see a lot of pigeons, one blackbird, 2 crows, 1 magpie, 4 black headed gulls and one red kite.

It’s not too late for you to take part at home too – you have until the 19th February!
