Year 1 Latest News – Summer 1 Week 3

We started our week taking part in a workshop run by West End In School’s. The theme was based on the King’s Coronation and we learnt a sequence of moves to move through the celebration dance. It was a fantastic experience for the children and they thoroughly enjoyed taking part.

We have also been very excited to return and see the progress of the caterpillars, beans and chicks. The children have been keeping some diaries to detail what they have noticed about the changes they have seen. Over the next couple of weeks it’s going to be exciting watching further developments from all of these.

We have innovated our Jack and the Beanstalk story maps and thought carefully about some of the changes in the story including; the main character, what the main character finds at the top of the beanstalk, who they meet in the story and how the story ends.

In art we did some work on perspective. We took the giant as our inspiration and created a picture that looks tall on the page. We followed the steps carefully and we were proud of our efforts.
