Year 1 Latest News – Summer 1 Week 4

It was a very exciting start to the week, when we noticed our caterpillars were beginning to form their chrysalis. We were able to watch as the caterpillar’s formed a silk pad and twisted themselves. This is where they will be until they are ready to show-off as a butterfly!

We have also been keeping a close eye on our chick eggs we have in Year 1. We have made some observations about what we notice, predictions about the chicks and have been careful when in the classroom around them. We are looking forward to them hopefully making an appearance next week!

This week we have enjoyed writing our final version of Jack and the Beanstalk. Some of the titles included; ‘Olive and the Sunflower, Ronaldo and the Beanstalk, Kirat and the Bamboo Tree and some of the imaginative places it led them to were ‘lipbalm land’, ‘football land’ and ‘candy land’. They were excited to read their stories to their friends and some were even brave enough to read them to the whole class!

Reception Latest News- Autumn 1- Week 3

This week the children enjoyed their first PE lesson. They changed independently and listened well to the safety rules of the hall. The children then took a trip into the ‘jungle’ where they moved their bodies like different animals. We ended the lesson with some mindfulness yoga.
