Year 1 News – Spring 1 – Week 4

30.1.23 – 3.2.23

This week the children have enjoyed learning more about different animals. In preparation for an animal workshop next term, the children discussed some unusual creatures and thought about some questions they could ask to find out more. They were intrigued about what they might eat and if they are venomous!

In our maths sessions, the children developed their maths vocabulary to compare height, length and mass using a range of vocabulary. The children enjoyed exploring the outdoor area, finding things that were tall, short and equal size to a length of paper.

During discovery time, some children have enjoyed making bird feeders and exploring the outdoors now that the weather is a little milder.

During our science discussions, the children have thought of different ways to sort animals according to some of their features.
