Welcome back!
This week we have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming the children to Year 2. It was lovely getting to know them by playing some class games and sharing our favourite things. We also discussed our summer holidays and created artwork to show something we enjoyed. To help the children settle into Year 2 we discussed how changes can make us feel and what their hopes and goals are for this new year.
In art, we created self-portraits in our sketchbooks and drew the birds our classes are named after. We also learned some facts about our class bird to make a fact file!
We have been introduced to our new topic ‘As the leaves turn…’; we visited our school woodland area and discussed facts we already know about the woods (for examples, animals that live there and plants that grow). We also came up with questions that we want to answer as the topic continues.
