Year 2 latest news Summer 1 Week 2

This week we have enjoyed observing our class caterpillars and noticing any changes we can see. We will continue to record our observations as they create a chrysalis and become butterflies!

In art we have used our sketching skills to draw a range of London landmarks, including Big Ben, The London Eye and Tower Bridge. We also painted backgrounds for our drawings using complimentary colours.

In maths we have been learning about fractions by finding fractions of shapes. We noticed some patterns between fractions, such as 2/4 is equal to ½. In English, we have enjoyed learning the poem The Magic Box by Kit Wright and have started planning our own ideas using our 5 senses (touch, taste, smell, sight and hear).

Reception Latest News- Autumn 1- Week 3

This week the children enjoyed their first PE lesson. They changed independently and listened well to the safety rules of the hall. The children then took a trip into the ‘jungle’ where they moved their bodies like different animals. We ended the lesson with some mindfulness yoga.
